Well, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. That’s the running story for the upcoming (maybe) “Ghostbusters 3″, as it runs into yet another snag on its way to being made. Bloody Disgusting reports that Bill Murray is officially not in the film. It’s tragic. Take a deep breath, and read on.
Bill Murray played Peter Venkman in the first two films, and is arguably the most popular of the Ghostbusters, with his sarcastic remarks for every occasion and a heart of gold that’s just buried under a pile of cynicism. Former co-star Dan Aykroyd confirmed the story, saying that he instructed new scribe Etan Cohen to not write Murray in the script, as it was time to move forward without him and get the film made. Murray had apparently been too slow to make a commitment to the film.
As reported earlier, the film will revolve around a new group of Ghostbusters, who are passed the torch by the aging group of originals. It could still be good, but Murray will no doubt be sorely missed…
