Principal photography wrapped recently on the anticipated (by some) remake of the 1980′s cult classic, “The Evil Dead”. While hard-core fans may still be wary, the star of the original film, Bruce Campbell, has seen the film and says it’s “definitely fabulous”, reports Bloody Disgusting.

The 1981 original put director Sam Raimi on the map as he was the front-man of a team of filmmakers who set out to make the most terrifying and grueling horror film ever made. On a shoe-string budget they did just that, creating “The Evil Dead”, a film about five twenty-somethings who unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons while away for the weekend in a remote cabin in the woods. The film is described justly as “the ultimate experience in grueling terror”, and in 1994 was retroactively given the rare NC-17 rating for “substantial graphic horror violence and gore”, states IMDb.com, where it maintains an impressive 7.6 user rating.

Needless to say, it has a vast and committed following, who are generally unhappy about the remaking of a film they still deem perfect and untouchable…
