This Halloween season is looking to be a standout year for horror movie fans, and if you need proof just watch this latest red band trailer for Scott Derrickson‘s “Sinister”, starring Ethan Hawke.
“Sinister” tells the macabre tale of a struggling crime novelist (Hawke) who, while searching for story material, stumbles upon the site of a family’s brutal murder and a box of old snuff tapes that may unlock the mystery behind the family’s death. But he has unlocked something else as well, a ghostly presence that threatens not only his life, but the lives of his children and wife, a presence that is wholly…sinister.
Anticipation and positive buzz has been building for this film since the mere pitch was being tossed around filmmakers’ circles. It’s a mature, adult horror film that First Showing calls “a welcomed discomfort”, and Bloody Disgusting claims will leave you “shaking”…
