It’s Halloween-time, and when the air gets colder and the nights get shorter, a scary movie with your pals sounds about perfect. For those who don’t want to get to the theatres to see “Sinister” this week, popping a spooky DVD in and wrapping up in a warm blanket is a sure bet. But what to watch?
You’ll hear the usual responses: “The Evil Dead“, “The Exorcist”, “Psycho”, “The Omen”, “The Blair Witch Project”, and so on and so forth. But who doesn’t at least already know the premise of most of these movies? Where’s the surprise when everyone already knows (SPOILER) that Norman Bates is the killer dressed as his own mother?

Our first scary flick on this list is 2007′s excellent horror anthology ”Trick ‘r Treat”, one of the few on this list that I actually have seen, and can wholeheartedly agree that it is a wonderfully refreshing and scary experience. Many thanks go out to @Ponderiss, @HavenOfHorror, @cheshirevenom, and @brianredfern for this wonderfully spooky suggestion…

It’s funny, where I first saw the header I was saying “yes I’ve seen it”. But after reading your post I realize we are talking about two different “Trick or Treat” films. The one I saw was an obscure movie from the early 90′s (I think). Anyway, nice write-up!
Really? That’s cool, I’m interested already! Is the older one on Netflix or IMDb?
I bet its on Netflix. I also found it on Netflix. 1986! Older than I remembered!
I mean I found it on IMDB
Awesome, I’m checking it out!
