Ever since news of the remake of 1981′s “The Evil Dead” surfaced on the internet a while back, fans and critics have been in a frenzy about the merit of such a venture. Was remaking a cult classic of such high esteem akin to blaspheme? Would it even be worth trying to outdo the original? Could it even be scarier?
Well, our first true glimpse at what this film can be is finally here. The much buzzed about red band trailer (read: for mature audiences only) gives us some great looks at the characters, the tone, style, and most importantly, the scare-factor. And let me just say, it looks bloody freakin’ fantastic.
