Happy Halloween everyone! As a little treat, I want to share with you my short film, “Over My Dead Body”. I wrote, produced, and directed this as my capstone at Oklahoma City University, under the guidance of “Children of the Corn” director Fritz Kiersch (he’s the head of the department there).
The film tells the tale of Sam, a nerdy outcast who pines for the love of Liz, who he feels he understands better than anyone else, if only he could talk to her. In his way is vicious bully Jake, and his two cronies Matt and Zach, always there to torment poor Sam and ensure he is the butt of every joke. But everything is about to change as the class takes a field trip to the woods, and stumble upon a dead body…
Hope you enjoy this. It took many, many, many hours of hard work, and the cast and crew knocked it out of the park for me. I cannot express how grateful I am to have worked with such talents. This is for them, and this is for you, my readers.
Happy Halloween,
-Thomas
